I’m going on vacation in Branson, Missouri. I’m trying to find the best package deals. Any suggestions?

We’ve already picked the sights and shows to see and I’ve found a couple of websites that allow you to choose vacation packages, but information seems skimpy. I’ve never planed a vacation before and would like sites with detailed info on shows and hotels so that I can make the most informed decisions. Would it be better to call the tourism department? My mom hasn’t been on a vacation in the last 30 years and this is where she wants to go. I just want to make this experience memorable for her. Thanks for your help!!!

let her pick what shows and entertainment she wants to do. Spend time with her and that will make it the most memorable to her and mean more than any tourist guy telling you what would be fun for your mom. You know her better than anyone. Hope you and your mom has a blast in Branson i know i did. If i can make a suggestion go see waltzing waters awsome

First off, if you want the best bang for your buck, try a local hotel rather than a chain. They offer the same amenities but are usually much cheaper. Unless money is no object, in that case stay at the Chateau on the Lake.
The package deals can be nice but they limit you too much. I would get a list of shows off of one of the 300 hundred or so Branson websites and see what interests your mom.
The live shows are actually quite good. I thought they would be cheesy but I went to several and liked them.
Branson Landing is a new area of the city and it offers some nice restaurants and shopping.
Depending on how long you are there, Branson probably has too much to offer. Since you have never planned a vacation, I would recommend 2-3 activities a day, leaning toward 2. If you plan too many things to do it can be stressful rather than relaxing.
Also give yourself plenty of drive time. The traffic can be pretty bad. Learn the alternate routes instead of 76. The hotel lobby can give you a map and explain. Have fun

I don’t recommend a package deal. There’s so much to do in Branson, I’d hate to be on a schedule because I’d booked it. I recommend the Marriott for a hotel. It’s right off the strip & is quiet & obviously name brand. We’ve always gotten a room for $60/night. Stick with the name brand hotels and you’ll be good. If you’re wanting to know what’s best to see & do, I recommend Silver Dollar City, Shopping (plan for a day of this) at outlets & touristy shops, see the Titanic, head to Branson Landing. If you’re looking for good shows, the Showboat Branson Belle is a great experience that includes food. McFarlin’s in the IMAX is a great place to eat. We usually to to Branson 2 times each year. It’s a great place with lots to do. Just do your research before you go & I really don’t think you need a package deal. You can go to to see user reviews of hotels & such in Branson.
