I live less than an hour away. Very highly recommended. Lots of big rainbows, and occasionally a brown. Don’t come to early in the year. The water will be murky. You will need a drift boat to do it properly, you can rent one at Craig or Wolf Creek if you need to. Make a week of it. There’s lots of good fishing here other than the Missouri. My personal favorite is the North Fork of the Blackfoot. If you park at the trailhead to the scapegoat wilderness and hike in about three miles you will find the best fishing in the world. Cutthroats to just over 20″ and I caught one bull trout that was 34″. The North Fork is best in the afternoons with small attractor patterns. You’d do good to hit the Beaverhead River by Dillon as well. I grew up on the Clark’s Fork River by Deer Lodge. Both the Clark’s Fork and the Little Blackfoot are worth hitting by Deer Lodge. I guess what I’m saying is the fishing at Craig is good, but don’t limit yourself to just one body of water on your vacation. There’s too much good fishing around to do that.
